FinC Trade Platform boosts China-Finland education cooperation

FinC brought an education expert delegation to Hangzhou to learn more about Hangzhounese schools, to showcase the Finnish education system and to have high-level policy exchange with the Zhejiang province education leadership.

The education delegation consisted of City of Porvoo Education Director Jari Kettunen, head teacher Piritta Simola from Kerkkoo school in Porvoo, VisitEDUfinn leader Simo Pokki and an education expert Yang Lukia from the Finnish National Agency for Education.

On 4 September, FinC arranged the delegation to visit education institutions from four different levels and later there was a panel discussion with the head teachers from said schools.

As the Finnish education system is very much in demand in China, Mrs. Simola organised a demonstration lecture in the subject of geography for the Chinese 6th year students.

The students visibly enjoyed the teaching methods employed and gave high marks for the class that they had the opportunity to attend.

On the following day, the full Finnish delegation met with the Zhejiang province education bureau leadership and agreed on education exchange targets. The immediate targets fall under the province-level cooperation starting between Zhejiang and Uusimaa provinces and include sister-school cooperation, student and teaching staff exchange, as well as, training.
